OCTOBER 1ST - WORLD VEGETARIAN DAY Before starting with Halloween, let's not forget about one of the most important holidays of October, World Vegetarian Day . This celebration is always held on October 1st, and it encourages people to eat vegetables and fruits, and forget for a day about meat. This holiday was first observed in1977 and brought together people from all over the world, spreading awareness to the benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle. The vegetarian path was chosen either for the healty life it offers, or from the conviction that animals should not be killed. Therefore, World Vegetarian Day promotes the principles of a healty life and environment, and moreover, joy and compassion for animals.
